How To Make An Organic Moisturizer

Organic Skin Care must include moisturizers. Although it is handy to purchase these in a ready to use form, you may want to try some of the following homemade moisturizers for a luxurious change on occasion.

You will find that they leave your skin feeling like a million bucks. If cost is a concern, check prices online before choosing a certain recipe. Keep in mind that the more essential oil that the recipe calls for, the more expensive it is to make. In places that the essential oil is more for light fragrance than for necessity to the recipe, it is marked as 'optional.' Any essential oils marked this way can be omitted or changed to a scent that you prefer. For those not marked optional, you need them for the recipe to work like it should.

Moisturizer

By packaging the moisturizers in small Mason jars, you leave yourself open to decorate and give as gifts in a pinch. Place a bit of colorful fabric over the flat lid to the jar, screw the ring on, wrap a color coordinated ribbon around the ring and add a personal tag and you have a ready to give, organic skin care gift from the heart. Just be sure that you are willing to share the recipe or they may drive you crazy wanting more!

How To Make An Organic Moisturizer

Quick and Simple Moisturizer:

Jojoba Oil is great for any skin type and absorbs easily. Apply a small amount to your freshly cleaned face before you dry it. The water on your face is very important to the use of this oil as a moisturizer. For added enjoyment, mix a drop of your favorite organic essential oil to the jojoba just before application. For anti-aging help, use one teaspoon of jojoba and a dab of active royal jelly (found in refrigerated in health food stores); keep your royal jelly refrigerated or it becomes inactive and no good to you.

Anti-aging Dry Skin Moisturizer

4 ounces shea butter

2 ounces organic olive oil

2 teaspoons organic vitamin E oil, 5000 IU

1 teaspoon active royal jelly (refrigerated section of health food stores)

6 drops organic lavender essential oil

Mix all ingredients on high until smooth and creamy. Store refrigerated in an airtight container. It is necessary to make small amounts of this at a time and keep refrigerated because of the active royal jelly. This is an awesome ingredient for its healing properties and well worth the effort.

Super Simple Moisturizer

With only 2 necessary ingredients, this one is a breeze. Mix 1/4 cup pure aloe vera gel (directly from plant) and 2 tablespoons organic vegetable glycerin. This amount is for use over the entire body. Use immediately because aloe vera gel begins to lose potency immediately. For added effects, you can add 3 or 4 drops of your favorite essential oil or you can add 1/2 teaspoon of active royal jelly for anti aging effects. Active royal jelly must be kept refrigerated to remain active and can be found in refrigerated sections of health food stores.

Dry Skin Moisturizing Cream

This moisturizer has the healing qualities of aloe vera, the anti-oxidant qualities of Vitamin E, and a variety of oils specifically chosen to infuse dry, tired skin with moisture and a renewed radiance.

1/3 cup aloe vera gel (taken directly from plant)

1/4 cup beeswax (liquefied)

1/3 cup coconut oil

3 drops grape seed extract

6 drops of organic lavender essential oil (optional)

3/4 cup organic olive oil

1/4 tsp vitamin E (5000 IU)

2/3 cup water (distilled)

Combine olive oil, coconut oil, and beeswax and melt in a large, microwave safe bowl then pour in blender and let cool until it is about as thick as a milkshake.

While the above is cooling, combine your water, aloe, essential oil, vitamin E, and grape seed extract in a large liquid measuring cup, pour this into blender when the other mixture has cooled enough. Blend until smooth and creamy.

If you are lucky enough to have a heavy duty kitchen mixer (the kind that is on its own stand with its own bowls), you may find that it works better for you because the mixture does become very heavy.
Store refrigerated in small Mason jars.

As a result, companies have to refine, bleach, and deodorize them with high heat and chemical before they can sell the final products. The healing powers and the natural smell of coconut oil are removed in the refine process. This oil is also often hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated. Moisturizing - Why Moisturize Your Face

Introduction

One of the most important things you can do for your face, to keep it healthy and looking young, is to moisturize.

Moisturize

So what is it, why do it, how often should I do it and are there any precautions.

Moisturizing - Why Moisturize Your Face

Moisturizing

Your skin has a layer of skin that has ingredients that provides natural moisture to the skin; these is called the Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF). These NMFs are made up of various amino acids and some chemicals such as salts and lactic acid. They are responsible for keeping the skin moist by taking the moisture from the environment and also keeping it in your skin.

As you can probably guess, areas that have high humidity help in keeping the skin moisturized. While the areas with low humidity, where the humidity is constantly less than 10% in the summer, people need to moisturize their face more often. I live in this type of area and constantly remind my wife to moisturize.

Why Moisturize

Even in areas of the country with high humidity, it is as important to moisturize just as it is in areas with low humidity, but not quite as often. What you do when you moisturize is you help with the healing of your skin, you prevent damage to your skin from chemicals, you stop premature wrinkles and you help the skin cell regeneration

How Often Should You Moisturize

As I have already said, the number of times you should moisturize will vary based on where you live and the humidity in the area. A good test on when to moisturize is the skin test, if you skin feels tight, then moisturize.

Moisturizing Limitations

Like any good thing, too much is not good. Moisturizing too much can clog your pores which leads to unhealthy skin. Moisturizers should not be applied to dry skin because it can seal germs into the pores. The best way to apply moisturizers to a dry skin is to dampen your face first. When you do this you minimize the chance of sealing germs inn your pores.

Pick the moisturizer that complements your skin type. Using the wrong moisturizer for your skin type may be detrimental to your skin. If you are not sure about what moisturizer to use, consult your dermatologist.

Conclusion

It is important to moisturize your face on a frequency based on your skin condition and the environment that you live in.

10 Hand Care Tips

Many of us talk with our hands, and your hands have a lot to say about the state of your health. Your hands do so much that they really need some TLC, and it makes sense to take good care of them. Here are some tips to keep your hands looking young and beautiful.

1. Use sunscreen

Moisturize

You probably know that dermatologists and other experts recommend wearing sunscreen on your face every day. But you may not have thought about sunscreen on your hands. Hands can develop "liver spots" or age spots, brownish areas that are actually sun damage. Apply sunscreen to your hands as you would moisturizing lotion, and it will become second nature to keep your hands protected from the sun.

10 Hand Care Tips

2. Moisturize

At least three times a day, moisturize your hands. Because of all the things your hands get into - especially soap and water - they tend to dry out quickly, particularly in winter.

3. Take care of your nails

Rather than putting acrylic nails over unhealthy natural ones, take a look at some of the simple things you can do to improve the health and look of your fingernails. First, file them into a neat oval after trimming. Second, when you moisturize your hands be sure to work some in around each nail.

4. Wear gloves when gardening and washing dishes

Soap and water can strip your hands of healthful natural oils. Wearing gloves keeps hands out of cleaning chemicals and soap. When gardening, gloves protect your hands from the sun and from injuries such as briar scratches and contact dermatitis from handling weeds.

5. Palm massage

Simply rub one palm over the back of the opposite hand in a circular motion. The massage motion increases circulation, which helps warm up your hands.

6. Finger massage

Soothing for arthritis, a finger massage with a little warm coconut oil is very healthful. Gently pull each finger in a "milking" motion and finish by moving each finger joint gently to the side. This relaxes and loosens the joints and gives your hands better flexibility and circulation.

7. Exfoliate

Did you ever think to exfoliate your hands? Gently rub damp hands with salt or sugar, then rinse. The grainy texture of the salt helps scrape away old skin cells, and, once again, it improves circulation.

8. Manicure

A professional manicure is a real treat, but be sure that the emphasis is on nail health and not covering up weak nails with acrylic ones. Go for a manicure that nourishes your existing nails and pampers your hands.

9. Feed your nails with good nutrition

Deficiencies in the B-complex vitamins can cause ridged nail beds, and a lack of calcium can result in brittle, dry nails that chip and flake easily. Be sure to eat foods high in these vitamins or take supplements to improve the look of your nails.

10. Adjust your computer

The position of your computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse can have a profound effect on your hands. Repetitive motions such as typing and mouse-clicking can result in tired, sore hands or even inflammation such as carpal-tunnel syndrome. Be sure your mouse is comfortable and easily reached, and that your keyboard is positioned at a comfortable level.

Jojoba Oil Moisturizer

Jojoba oil is extracted from jojoba plant's seeds. The plant is growing naturally in the wilderness of southern Arizona, southern California, and northwestern Mexico. In history, the oil was used by Native Americans in their traditional medicine because of its natural healing properties.

What makes it unique compared to all other vegetable oils is that it has a molecular structure that is close or highly similar to that of the human sebum or the oil produced by our skin. All types of skin would accept this kind of oil without risks of developing breakouts or other adverse skin reactions. If you have oily skin, the oil could actually help bring about natural and ideal balance to your own sebum. Thus, excessive oiliness of your skin would be controlled.

Moisturizer

Many experts classify this oil more as a liquid wax instead of as oil. It is deeply moisturizing, making the skin feel velvet-like and much softer. In the process, the oil could effectively reduce stretch marks and wrinkles. Thus, jojoba oil is usually categorized as a highly effective skin softener and moisturizer.

Jojoba Oil Moisturizer

Aside from reducing wrinkles and stretch marks, it could also help lighten the skin. Thus, it is usually added as an ingredient to several skin whitening products. In the same way, jojoba oil could also help heal different types of scars in the skin. Many research efforts have proven that the oil could also bring about benefits for treatment of acne and many other serious skin conditions and diseases like psoriasis.

What's more? Jojoba oil has vitamin E or tocopherols. In fact, the oil has a very high level of the nutrient. This makes it a great source of antioxidants for the skin. Thus, you could rest assured that applying products with jojoba oil could help your own skin counter the damaging effects of free radicals that are accumulated from the polluted environment and the scorching ultraviolet rays from direct sunlight.

In many skincare products, jojoba oil is combined with other effective ingredients to bring about the best and most desired outcomes. In particular, most products with jojoba oil also contain D-panthenol or vitamin B5. This nutrient helps in repairing skin tissues. At the same time, it is a natural skin moisturizer. Thus, such products could help protect the skin against sunburn.

Jojoba oil is also usually combined with Olivem 800, an emulsifier from natural olive oil. Olivem 800 is specially formulated to deeply penetrate into the skin, making it hydrated and rejuvenated. The substance has a lipid fraction coming from olive oil to give the skin a great emollient effect.

The search for the best skincare products need not be tedious. If you would pick those with jojoba oil, you could be sure you are making the best and most effective decision.

Essential Oils - Use With Lotion to Moisturize and Soften Your Skin Naturally

Do you have to wash your hands often? As a nurse, I probably wash my hands at least 20 times a day. Does winter or dry weather leave you with rough, chapped hands? I find that my hands really need special attention in the winter. This article gives ways to use healing essential oils in simple recipes for lotion that will soften the skin and effectively replenish moisture to rough, dry hands. I have found the simplest way to use essential oils with lotion is to add my favorite oils to a quality, non-scented, non-perfumed, natural lotion base.

This recipe is for a great moisturizing lotion for the skin:

Moisturize

· 8 ounces of lotion base

Essential Oils - Use With Lotion to Moisturize and Soften Your Skin Naturally

· 15 drops of geranium

· 10 drops of myrrh

· 5 drops of ylang ylang.

Always use only pure therapeutic grade essential oils. Add the essential oils to the lotion base, gently mix the solution, and add a label with the ingredients to the container. Geranium and myrrh are classic essential oils for healing the skin. I add ylang ylang just because I love its aroma. A very important principle of aromatherapy is that the consumer likes the aroma. If they don't like it, they won't use it. There are many combinations that you can use.

For chapped hands, try adding 10 drops each of rosewood, patchouli and geranium to around 8 ounces of a quality unperfumed lotion base. Apply on location as needed.

For dry skin, try adding 10 drops each of rose, Roman chamomile, and sandalwood to 8 ounces of lotion base. Be certain that only pure, therapeutic grade essential oils are used.

If you are interested in making your own lotion to add the essential oils to, this very old recipe will help cool and soften the skin, as well as clean stains from hands:

· 1 ounce of rosewater (floral essential oil water)

· 1 ounce of fresh squeezed lemon juice

· 1 ounce of glycerin

· 10 drops of your choice of therapeutic grade essential oils

Put all of these ingredients together in a clean container and shake gently. Label the bottle with the ingredients and instructions to shake well before using each time and store in the refrigerator. This needs to be used within 2-3 weeks, so it is wise to make small amounts at a time.

Here is another recipe for a winter lotion:

· 1/2 cup of distilled water or rosewater

· 1/2 cup of jojoba carrier oil

· 1 Tablespoon of lecithin

· 1 capsule of Vitamin E

· 10-20 drops of your choice of pure therapeutic grade essential oils

Put the water/rosewater, jojoba and lecithin in a blender and whip until it forms a nice lotion. You can add more water/rosewater if you desire a thinner lotion. Cut open the vitamin E capsule and add the Vitamin E and essential oils at the end. Lecithin is an emulsifier, or mixing agent, that helps oil and water stay together. Mix well. Store in clean container and label with the ingredients.

While a cream is a vegetable oil with water added, it is an ideal moisturizer for dry skin, Lotion contains more water than cream, so it is thinner and less oily. The consistency of lotion makes it ideal for normal to oily skin. It has the quality of spreading easily and doesn't leave an oily coat over the skin. Adding essential oils enhances its therapeutic value.

The Key to Natural African Hair Care - Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

The key to healthy Black hair and growth is moisture. I just recently changed my moisturizing regiment, because while I religiously moisturized my hair, it was still very dry. I found that although I was frequenting African hair care vlogs and blogs like Curly Nikki, I wasn't truly paying attention to what contributors were writing about. I think because my hair had grown 5 inches in 6 months (when previously I hadn't achieved any growth due to breakage) and I completely repaired the damaged sections of my hair, I thought my moisture regiment was on point. Boy was I wrong!

First, I would mixed around three tablespoons of coconut oil and one table spoon of olive oil together and heated it up in the microwave (not too hot). I would then wet my hair, soaked it with the hot oil and put on a heat cap for about 30 minutes. Next, I would co-wash (wash with conditioner) the oil out of my hair, spray in Hawaiian Silky leave-in conditioner and let my hair air dry. Once it was dry, I would moisturized my scalp with my Jojoba mix, which consists of 5 drops of Rosemary, 2 drops of Lavender to one tablespoon of Jojoba oil. I then separate my hair into 11 big sections, twist each section, put on a satin bonnet and I'm done.

Moisturize

With this regiment, I didn't comb my hair much, once a month at best. I found that detangling with my fingers while co-washing worked just fine. Its common knowledge in the natural African hair care community that our hair isn't supposed to be combed or brushed too much and not combing worked for me when I grew my hair out over the winter.

The Key to Natural African Hair Care - Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

My hair would only remain supple for ONE day on this regiment. It would literally be dried out on the second day even after re-spritzing with the leave-in. I do co-wash two to three times a week, one because I can't stand that frowsy hair smell and two, washing allows me to get some moisture. Although some may consider 3 co-washes a week a bit much for dry hair, its the only way I can get that suppleness back.

My hair had always been super, duper dry and I just thought I had to live with that fact and do whatever I could to keep it moist for as long as possible. After sticking with this treatment for eight months I realized there should be something I could do to stay moisturized, so I started researching again. I spent a couple of hours on Curly Nikki as opposed to just browsing for a few minutes and low and behold, I came across a post from a sista with baddest Afro I have ever seen in my life! One of the first things she wrote about was how dry her hair is and she went on to outline her moisture regiment.

When she co-washes, she uses around five different types of conditioner together and she doesn't rinse it out! Further, if she feels her hair is getting a little dry between co-washes, she'll spritz in more conditioner! I first thought that all of that conditioner would cause a lot of build-up and eventually be damaging, but the truth is everything the mainstream teaches us about natural African hair care is backward. We can basically do the opposite of what other people do with their hair, especially in the case of conditioning. After all, her hair is incredible! She's maintained this regiment for the better part of six years and her hair is gorgeous, so all of that conditioning must be working!

As I researched on, I came across a post about sealing with oil. The post described how sealing locks in what ever type of moisturizer you are using and aids in keeping your hair moisturized. I've never sealed my hair. I figured since I hot oil treated my hair, oiled my scalp and used a very rich leave-in, I didn't need to put in any more oil. However, it was still very dry between co-washes, even when I added more leave-in, so whatever I was doing wasn't working and my hair was telling me it was time for something new.

So, when co-wash day rolled around, I dove right into this sista's moisture regiment. I co-washed with Garnier Fruictis Triple Nutrition and Suave Almond and Shea conditioner. I repeated the co-wash three times and on the third time, I didn't rinse it out. To seal it, I mixed Shea butter and coconut oil together until the consistency was a little thinner than normal Shea butter, but not too oily. After my hair dried, I coated it liberally with the mix, but I didn't saturate it. I didn't use the Jojoba oil mix this time, because I wanted this regiment to be completely different to see what the results would be. I twisted my hair up as usually and put on my satin cap.

For this regiment, I combed and brushed my hair! I used a wide-tooth comb and a Con Air vented brush with the balls at the tips of the bristles. Although natural African hair care science doesn't condone too much combing and brushing, a lot of sistas comb and brush on a regular basis and their hair is fine. So, with this new regiment, I combed my hair out while co-washing and brushed it after putting in the Shea butter/coconut oil seal. Again, trying something new!

I must say, my hair is so dry, I didn't expect much difference. I actually felt my hair might be a bit too greasy and I would have to modify my hair style. LET ME TELL YOU!! When I took my twists out, I couldn't believe it! My hair wasn't greasy AT ALL and it was completely stretched out (shrinkage is a problem for naturals). Usually, when I take out my twists and style my hair, it poofs out into an Afro. This time, my hair laid straight down curly, as if it was being weighed down, but without the greasy, heavy feeling. I can't believe it! My hair literally drank the Shea Butter and coconut oil seal and I think for the first time in a long time its truly happy!

I went to a festival that day and literally, the first sista I passed by stopped me to ask me about my hair - Shout Out to Lovita! - and needless to say I was a little excited to tell her all about my new conditioning method! I've only done it twice and my hair looks so good, I'm not worried about build up. I'll probably shampoo my hair a couple times per month just to clarify it.

From now on, I'm going to follow natural African hair care science to the letter - Shout out to Curly Nikki! Sistas that take the time to post information about natural African hair care REALLY know what they're talking about, just look at their hair! I had to learn that if my hair doesn't look good, its not getting what it wants and needs and instead of figuring I know everything there is to know, I should take some advice and do something different. Now go 'head and Grow Your Natural!

The Key to Natural African Hair Care - Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

I've been part of the natural African hair care community for 17 years and I feel I have a few things to contribute to the science of natural African hair care. How To Correctly Exfoliate Oily Skin

An important part of keeping oily skin under control is keeping the topmost layer of your skin free of debris and oil build-up. It is important not to over-strip the skin and to use mild cleansers because harsh skin care products can create a cycle of oiliness that just gets worse. When your skin is too dry, it tries to correct the moisture imbalance by creating more of its natural oils. By adding exfoliation to your skin care regimen, you open pores and remove toxins from the skins surface, allowing the skin to breathe more naturally. This is important in alleviating oily skin. Aside from this, fine lines will become less visible with regular exfoliation and your skin will have a healthy glow.

These steps describe a total body exfoliation, but may be adapted for exfoliating only the face. It should be noted that over exfoliation can lead to cracked skin and broken capillaries just beneath the skins surface layer, so exfoliate but do not over do it.

\"Moisturizer For Oily Skin\"

Wet your entire body in the bath or shower. A slick, smooth skin surface is important to keep the skin from being pulled (which stretches it).

How To Correctly Exfoliate Oily Skin

Apply an organic exfoliating treatment (you want to find or make one for oily skin) to a pair of exfoliating gloves (the exfoliation surface of the gloves should not be too rough). Make sure the treatment is well dispersed over the exfoliating surface of the gloves. Exfoliating treatments that utilize citric juices as ingredients are good for oily skin.

Beginning with your feet, massage the treatment over the entire surface of your skin, being very careful with sensitive areas like the insides of arms and thighs. Your massaging should consist of small circles which overlap each other repeatedly.

Once you work up to the top of your thighs, switch and start on your arms. Your torso should be last. It is recommended to save your face by exfoliating it with your normal skin care. Exfoliating your face in the mirror allows you to see when you are being too rough with it. You do not realize how much you are pulling your facial skin when you cannot see it.

Rinse your body thoroughly. Cleanser left on the skin can be overly drying and lead to even more oil production.

Follow with a good organic moisturizer for oily skin applied to wet or damp skin. This will help seal water into the outer layers of the skin which can help balance the moisture content and allow your skin to slow its oil production.

Tips:

Exfoliation is for men, too! When making your own exfoliating treatments, you can make your man more comfy about this by watching the fragrances of essential oils you may use. Using the woodsy essential oils will give the treatment a more masculine scent. By making your own moisturizers, you can do the same with moisturizer; he may be more inclined to use it this way.

When exfoliating the face, apply a bit of witch hazel with a cotton ball for a mild astringent to help with oil control. Mix 4 tablespoon organic oat flour with 2 tablespoons powdered milk and 1 tablespoon lemon juice to make a smooth paste. Apply to face, let sit until dry, and rinse with warm water. This can be used a couple of times a week.

If you have contacts, be very careful. The fine particles in exfoliating treatments (which are necessary for exfoliation) can scratch or tear your contacts or become trapped under your contact and scratch your cornea. When rinsing, make sure your eyes are tightly closed.

Oatmeal exfoliation can be very soothing to your skin. It is rather sticky and messy, so be sure to do this over the sink (so you can rinse you hands easily after application and so the mess falls in the sink not on the floor). First take a tablespoon of honey and spread it over the entire face. Let this sit for 3 to 5 minutes because its moisturizing properties will loosen the upper layer of debris and old oil.

Then take oatmeal and press in onto the face, making it stick to the honey, leave for another 3 to 5 minutes (allowing the natural chemicals in the two to mix). Begin massaging the mixture all over the face making tiny circles. You can just rinse with warm water after this process, but you may want to use a mild, organic cleanser. Using Castor Oil for Acne - A Natural Skin Care Discovery

Can using castor oil for acne treating skin care products really clear up your skin? Believe it or not, the answer is absolutely yes! This natural oil has wonderful moisturizing and healing properties that few can match.

OK, so you understand the healing properties part, but why exactly would keeping your skin moisturized help your acne? After all, doesn't moisture clog pores and cause immediate break outs in the first place? In reality this is a very common fallacy that many have wrongfully accepted... including me at one time.

Moisturize

For years I tried everything in my power to keep my skin as dry as possible only to find that my condition became worse and worse. Not only did my acne break outs increase, but I had red, scaly and chronically dry skin. Only after I stopped this practice and started moisturizing regularly in a healthy way did I start to see improvements.

Now don't run out to your local drug store and pick up the first moisturizer that you see! Store bought lotions and moisturizing soaps usually incorporate synthetic elements and harmful carcinogens in order to decrease costs and increase shelf life. Unfortunately, in the cosmetic industry ingredients don't need to be disclosed to the consumer. In other words... you have no clue what you're putting on your skin!

So how do you moisturize in a "healthy way"? Simple... By using homemade all natural soaps. You can either make soap yourself, or you can buy handcrafted soaps from a reputable company that is most concerned with producing a quality product and not passing last quarter's sales goal. The important part is that you steer clear of "fake" ingredients and go 100% all natural.

There are a ton of different oils and fats that can be used to make soap, but I believe that castor oil for acne treating soaps is definitely the best because of its ability to moisturize and quickly heal the skin.

In order to make soap out of castor oil you will need to mix it with lye (sodium hydroxide) in order to create a chemical reaction called saponification. During saponification, the oil (acid) reacts with the lye (base) to form a salt (your soap). I bet you never knew that soap was actually a salt!

Never use just castor oil in a soap making recipe as it will produce a soft bar that will become rancid prematurely. I recommend combing the castor oil with a percentage of avocado oil, coconut oil and palm oil to produce an amazing finished product that will withstand the test of time.

Give homemade soaps a try. I don't think you will ever regret it! Getting rid of the "fake stuff" and using only natural ingredients on your skin could be the missing link in your skin care regimen that will make all the difference in the world.

Homemade Pimple Treatments - 7 Treatments You Can Do at Home

A lot of people do the wrong thing when it comes to getting rid of pimples. I once suffered from moderate acne and would not go out of the house unless I had to. I would not go on dates and would not even talk to my friends. There are homemade pimple treatments that work. I am living proof of that.

I am going to share with you some of the things that I have done over the past few months and the results that I have had with each. Each of these homemade pimple treatments seem to work well, while others worked great for me. Remember that you may have to try different ones before you find the one that works for you.

Moisturize

1. One of the first that you need to do that is completely free is to reduce all of the Stress in your life as you can. Stress is a big factor in acne because studies shows that the more stress you have, the more acne you will have. So the first thing that I want you to do is to reduce all of the stress that you can in your day to day activities. I cannot tell you enough how much eliminating stress has helped me.

2. Now that you are getting your stress under control, now you can try some known Homemade Pimple Treatments. First get some lemons, and get the lemon skin. Using the lemon skin and some warm water, wash your face with the lemon skin. Let the juices set on your face for around thirty minutes and wash with your normal face cleaner. You should start to seem some improvement within a couple of weeks. I personally love this treatment because it is easy and effective. It does take a while for the results to show up, but this will help your acne.

3. If you have pimples that are swelling, or if your face feels swollen, you can try toothpaste to get your skin to feel better. Right before going to bed apply some regular toothpaste to the affected areas and leave it there overnight. You will be amazed at how much better your face will feel in the morning.

4. Another face wash that you can try is Vinegar. Mix the vinegar with some salt and gently rub your entire face. Let it stay on your face for around thirty minutes and wash it off with your normal face wash. I didn't see big improvements with this mix, but you may.

5. Before going to bed, you need to take the Mint leaf juice and apply it to your affected areas. Mint is known to help reduce acne and help clear the skin. Leave the mint juice on your face overnight to do its magic.

6. As with all skin conditions, it is very important to drink plenty of water when getting rid of acne. You need to drink at least 8 full glasses of water each day to get rid of the toxins in the body and help you battle acne. I drink 8 glasses a day and I feel so much better and my skin is super clear.

7. Another homemade pimple treatment is the use of Cucumber. Make a cucumber paste and apply it to your face. Let it stand on your face for around 10 minutes and wash with your normal face wash. Cucumber will help moisturize the skin and provide plenty of vitamins for your skin.

What is the Best Natural Face Moisturizer?

There are so many great natural face moisturizer ingredients available why would you use skincare products that are loaded with chemicals when you don't have to? Well, first of all, you have to know what these natural moisturizers are and where to find them.

First, what are some of the ingredients you'd want to avoid in mainstream skincare? There are all sorts of nasties like parabens which have been linked to an increase in breast cancer. You'll find these with a prefix of methyl, propyl, butyl or ethyl and they all end in "paraben". This is a chemical preservative that extends the shelf life of cosmetics and could be hurting you.

Moisturizer

Innocent seeming fragrance could also be making you sick. With over 70,000 chemicals used to make a single scent, fragrance is one of the chief culprits of allergies in skincare.

What is the Best Natural Face Moisturizer?

Now that you know some things to avoid, what kind of natural face moisturizers are good?

You could make like the Ancient Romans and bathe in crocodile dung and mud in hopes of keeping your skin smooth and wrinkle free but if that makes you turn up your nose in disgust and, really, why wouldn't it, you could take after Cleopatra and try honey. But I don't recommend the supermarket honey bear. Supermarket honey will help moisturize your skin but it'll be very sticky.

Better to try a skincare product made with a top honey proven to fight aging and nourish and moisturize your skin. Active manuka honey is cultivated in the wilds of New Zealand. It's gathered from the manuka bush and scientists have proven this honey has the highest antioxidant qualities of any other honey. Antioxidants protect you against cancers and premature aging by fighting free radicals loose in the body.

Scientists at New Zealand's Waikato University have also proven this honey has the ability to strengthen your collagen cells, the proteins responsible for keeping your skin moist and soft, and stimulate skin cell renewal. Your skin will be rejuvenated!

Another ingredient I use daily in my skincare is Cynergy TK, this cutting edge ingredient contains Functional Keratin which is able to strengthen your bodies' proteins to keep your skin looking smooth and wrinkle free. It moisturizes your skin as it penetrates deeply to even out your skin tone and give you a smooth complexion.

Other great natural moisturizer ingredients include shea butter, avocado oil and others. Visit my website today to learn more about natural face and body moisturizers.

How Black Women Can Grow Long, Healthy Hair

I first started learning about proper black hair care in October of 2005 after reading the book, Ultra Black Hair Care Growth by Cathy Howse. That book started me on an eye-opening journey towards learning about why I could never grow my then ear-length and damaged hair past neck length.

The first thing most Black women do wrong when it comes to taking care of their hair is that they do not moisturize often enough or use the right products to moisturize with. Black hair is naturally the driest kind of hair there is because the curl pattern makes it difficult for sebum to nourish the entire hair strand. Therefore, we must add extra moisture. The best moisturizers for black hair list water or glycerin as the first ingredient. For example, I personally use Nexxus Headress Weightless Leave-in Conditioner. In general, hair grease products that contain petroleum or mineral oil as the first ingredient should be avoided because they do not moisturize, but instead merely coat the hair strands and block the pores of the scalp, causing buildup and attracting dirt.

Moisturize

The subject of dirt brings me to the next thing that black women are doing wrong when caring for their hair--they do not wash their hair often enough. A lot of black women I know (and I used to be one of them), will only wash their hair once a month because they believe the myth that water dries their hair out even more and that frequent washing causes damage. This isn't true. Water is the best moisturizer of all moisturizers, but when you simply let the hair dry without putting anything onto the hair to keep the moisture in, all the moisture evaporates into the air, leaving your hair even drier than it was before you washed it. You must add a moisturizer, followed by an oil (I use Olive Oil mostly, but there are hundreds of oils you can use!) before drying your hair to keep moisture in and avoid dryness. I wash my hair about once a week. Some black women wash their hair every day or every other day and it is long, healthy and strong. By the way, air drying is best for black hair because of the third and final topic I will discuss.

How Black Women Can Grow Long, Healthy Hair

Excessive heat is another huge reason black women have damaged hair. Blow dryers, curling irons, flat irons and hot combs make the dryness in our hair worse and causes breakage and damage. The less heat and manipulation you put your hair through, the better it will look! There are many alternatives to using heat on your hair like rollers, wrapping, and air drying.

By following these and other Black hair care techniques, my hair is now almost arm pit length--the longest (and healthiest) it has ever been in my life!
